The JV Titans opend league play in tough fashion going up against the top two teams, Kinnick and ASIJ.
Tuesday night the Titans hosted the Kinnick Red Devils. The young Titans came out very tight to start and only found their first points to open the game in the last minute of the first quarter. Despite their woes on offense, the Titans remained stout on defense and held Kinnick in check trailing only 10-15 at the half. But the second half, the offensive woes still plagued the Titans as they only shot 19% from the field and the Red Devils increased their lead. St Mary's eventually fell 37-22.
The Titans looking to bounce back from their poor performance against Kinnick, came out ready to play against ASIJ. The Titans were playing fast and hitting their shots and came out 20-16 lead at the end of the first quarter and found themselves tied 30-30 at the half. What haunted St Mary's the game before, they could only come up with 3 points in the third quarter and found themselves down 33-48 to end the 3rd quarter. By the 4th quarter, the Titans played like a defeated team, giving up easy baskets and making silly tunrovers to go down 43-72.
The Titans will host Yokota in their final game before the break on Thursday and are looking to bounce back and solve their offensive struggles.
