  • St. Mary's Swim Team Annual Swim-a-Thon

The SMST Buccaneers held their annual Swim-A-Thon on January 21st. The event helps kick off the New Year for the Bucs and ensures the entire team set ups well for the upcoming championship meet season. The road to success is always under construction and SMST swimmers have churned out numerous laps in workouts since the beginning of the school year. The “How far can you swim in 1 hour” challenge is always a cool “TEAM” event that gives all an idea how their training is going.

  • JV Titans Split 2 League Games

After a busy weekend in Okinawa, the JV Titans basketball played 3 more games in a week.  The Titans opened up with their first league road game at Yokota.  St Mary's knew this would be an important game to try to keep up in the league standings.  The Titans opened up the game playing well and up at half 22-18, but what has plagued the Titans all season is being able to play consistent basketball for 4 quarters.  The Titans came out flat again in the second half and were outscored 33-20 and went down 43-51.  Shin Yazawa lead the way for the Titans with 13 points and 5 steals.

  • JV Soccer Falls to ASIJ, 1-4

JV Soccer vs ASIJToday we came up short against a well organised team. We were determined to win against a close rival, however, despite taking the lead through a Koji Kuo strike we ended up the wrong side of a 4 - 1 defeat. Our first half performance had been positive, pressing the opposition high, winning possession back all over the pitch.

  • Titans Upset Pair of Devil Far East Champions and Shutout Yokota, Zama

    January 14

In the ASIJ middle school gym, the crowd and Titan grapplers went wild as two defending Far East champions from Kinnick got stuck on their backs which gave the Titans a boost in defeating the 2014 & 2015 Far East Dual champions in the regular season Kanto league dual 34—19. The 2-time undefeated Far East champion at 122lb, Lucas Wirth (KIN), was leading the match against Rio Lemkuil, who is also a defending Far East champion for the Titans. The clash of the two Far East champions ended as Rio capitalized on the opponent’s throw and stuck him to his back for a pin.
