Sports Round-up

  • JV Soccer Breaks Losing Streak Against ASIJ

We travelled away to ASIJ to play them in our first regular season match-up, and came out victorious after 90 minutes. Our goal was to play together as a team, and give a better defensive showing than we did previously here, we did both and then some. From the first minute we played with a purpose, and each player carried out their role perfectly. After some early important saves Shuhei Oomiya left the field injured, which meant Nikhil Reddy (usually forward) came in to play as keeper.

  • Soccer Titans defeated by the Mustangs

It was a hard-fought defeat for the Titans Varsity Soccer Team. Although ASIJ scored 4 goals it does not reflect how the game was played by the Titans. We controlled the majoriy of the game. The momentum was on our side throughout the match but we just couldn't get the ball into the goal. We would have liked to have won, but we did develop some mental confidence from the game. We now know that we can play like a team. We will get another chance at the Mustangs on January 21st on our home pitch. Please everyone come out and help your Titans to a victory.

  • MS 6th Grade Basketball Titans Beat Nishimachi 22-15

The 6th grade basketball team had plenty to be proud about in their 22-15 win against Nishimachi on Satruday.  The Titans played solid defense and got out in transistion for some easy baskets to take the lead early on, and the game was never in doubt after that.  The offense was lead by Kent Kong and Ralph Francolini, but 6 other Titans scored to help with the scoring load.  All players were able to see about the same amount of in game action, which will only help their confidence heading into the last part of the season after Christmas holidays.
