As we enter the last quarter, we would like to give you a brief summary of what’s happening in St. Mary’s Development Office.

Annual Giving

We have received over three million yen from many generous parents who support St. Mary’s International School. Due to the Multi-Purpose Hall fundraising which was solicited at the same time, Annual Giving may not have had as great impact as during previous years. We are very grateful for each donation, which will be used to enhance the quality of our educational program.

Any donation — big or small — is very much appreciated.

Multi-Purpose Hall

Retractible seating showning donor nameplate

The Second offering of Multi-Purpose Hall Seat Sponsorships was very successful. Within the short period of mid-November to mid-January, we received new sponsorships for 79 seats. We were very happy to see these nameplates installed over the Spring Holidays. We also have a “Donor Wall” to honour those who have generously supported this fundraising project through monetary donations.

We may have third and last sponsorship offering in the new school year, to give a chance to those who may have missed this opportunity. Meanwhile, you may send in the application form now if you wish to secure one or more seats. Please contact Mrs. Yumi Shimokawa at the accounting office for more details.

St. Mary’s Carnival

St. Mary’s will be hosting the Carnival on Saturday, May 14, and the St. Mary’s Alumni Association will be selling shaved ice and smoothies, as in previous years. This booth has always been a hit for the kids and families. Please come and enjoy their menu.

For adults, may we suggest a Mimosa or Gin and Tonic, which you can enjoy at the St. Mary’s Alumni Parents Association booth.

April and May are the busiest months of the school year, filled with many events. I hope you and your family will enjoy and have a great time.

Best regards,
Yumi Shimokawa
