Welcome to the Middle School/High School Learning Commons

The Learning Commons is open whenever school is in session.

Monday and Friday - 7:30 A.M. - 4:30 P.M.

Tuesday - Thursday - 7:30 A. M. - 5:00 P.M.

You can find books, ebooks, audio books magazines and databases.

Research

Japanese Research Resources

Setagaya Library You need to register for a Library Card. Make your request online and then pick up the book in Futakotamagawa near the station. Any questions talk to the librarians.

National Diet Library The #1 place to go for information on anything related to Japan. It provides biographies on famous Japanese and online exhibitions. While mainly in Japanese it also supports English, Chinese and Korean languages.

International Library of Children's Literature - A branch of the National Diet Library in Ueno. Provides an examination room for junior high and high school students where you can read for research. Books cannot be checked out but you may make a copy within the copyright guidelines.

Collaborative Reference Database (Ask a Librarian) Created by the National Diet Library to give suggestions for book titles or search terms to look for related to topics people request. If you are looking for something specific you can send in your question. The more specific the better.

Our students participate in the Sakura Medal Program every year where students read from a list of books chosen by librarians from Tokyo. Students can see the current list here and leave comment about the book on the blog by clicking on the book cover.
