Parent-Faculty Advisory Group

Facilitating communication among the St. Mary’s community

The Parent-Faculty Advisors provide parents an informal opportunity each month to meet directly with Mr. Saburo Kagei, our school’s headmaster, representatives of the leadership team and teachers. PFA is attentive to the concerns of parents regarding their boys’ overall experience at St. Mary’s.

PFA consists of parents, teachers and representatives of the school leadership team. While maintaining an advisory role, members strive to facilitate communication and cooperative action between the St. Mary’s community and the school.

Parents as well as the school suggest topics for each month’s meeting agenda. In the past year alone, PFA meetings addressed: Accreditation Action Plans, Staffing, International School Assessments, Iowa Assessments, SAT, Grading, Outreach, Marketing and the establishment of St. Mary’s Marketing Advisory Panel (SMMAP), Curriculum and Program Improvements, Student Schedules, and the 60th Anniversary event preparations, among others.

All parents are welcome to attend the meetings or make agenda suggestions by e-mail to the PFA president or any member of the group.
